' Crannog ' by John Alexander Howie |
All images are printed on 230mg² semi-matt photographic paper, with a blank border suitable for framing.
The 'Crannog' painting was inspired by the Loch Tay Crannog, a faithfully reconstructed crannog on the north east shore of the loch.
Crannogs were used by the Celts as a home for humans and livestock, and access to the waterways, the highways of the time. It was also used as a meeting place and as a form of defence from outsiders and wild animals.
