' Calton Hill ' by John Alexander Howie |
This image is printed on heavyweight (180mg²) matt photographic paper, with a blank border suitable for framing.
Calton Hill stands at the East end of Princes Street and, though only a short climb, it offers some of the finest views of Edinburgh. The buildings in this picture comprise of the City Observatory in the centre with the 1776 Observatory House at the left hand corner.
The view from Calton Hill extends northwards to Fife and the Forth Rail and road bridges, eastwards to North Berwick and the Bass Rock, and southwards to the Pentland hills.
