The village of Lossiemouth on the Moray Firth is blessed with two large beaches on either side of the promontory of land it sits on.
This one, the West Beach, is flatter and less dramatic than the east beach. But it does have the Covesea Lighthouse as an excellent focal point at its far end.
And because it is west facing it gets the full array of Scottish sunsets, particularly in Autumn. The Moray Firth weather also provides an endless variety of striking clouds and skies to photograph.
